A quiet sense of happiness
After I finished painting today, I sat on the platform at 11.30 tonight, on my way to yours. It was 16 degrees and a little chilly, and I hadn’t dressed warmly enough, so I wrapped my arms around myself.
A train rushed past. I watched the people inside, lit by the carriage lights, and felt a sudden happiness rise in me. How lovely it is to be able to catch a train and go home.
